The RAM GENE-1 suits applications requiring a high sensitivity for alpha, beta and gamma surface contamination monitoring, with the additional flexibility of dose-rate monitoring. The RAM GENE-1 is equipped with a recessed, internal GM pancake detector using a thin mica window protected by a stainless steel screen. The instrument can be used as either a radiation dose-rate monitor with the specially designed energy filter in place, or as a contamination monitor with units of cps or cpm.  The display units are automatically selected by an in-built filter sensor.  The new rugged aluminium enclosure and splash resistant keypad makes the GENE-1 suitable for use in harsh environments.
